Maharashtra CM-Designate Devendra Fadnavis Downplays Titles, Emphasizes Teamwork for State’s Progress

Date:

Maharashtra’s Chief Minister-designate, Devendra Fadnavis, has sought to downplay the significance of political titles, calling the roles of Chief Minister (CM) and Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) “just technical posts.” His comments, made ahead of his swearing-in ceremony on December 5th, reflect his focus on governance over personal positions.

“The posts of CM and DCM are just technical posts. We all will work together for Maharashtra,” Fadnavis stated, emphasizing that the primary goal of his government is to serve the people of Maharashtra and ensure the state’s development. His remarks come as political leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) finalize the formation of the new state government.

Fadnavis’ statement highlights a spirit of collaboration among the alliance partners, known as the Mahayuti, with an emphasis on working as a unified team. He reassured the public that the focus would be on delivering good governance and fulfilling the promises made during the election campaigns.

When questioned about the appointment of other ministers in the new government, Fadnavis responded, “Other ministers will be decided in upcoming meetings.” This comment indicates that while the leadership positions are set, discussions are still ongoing regarding the allocation of other important portfolios.

The formation of the new government in Maharashtra has been the subject of intense political negotiations, with key positions being carefully distributed among the alliance partners. As the swearing-in ceremony approaches, Fadnavis’ statement reflects his confidence in the process and his commitment to a stable and effective administration.

As the state prepares for a new chapter under Fadnavis’ leadership, his emphasis on teamwork and collective responsibility signals a departure from the focus on individual power and a shift toward a collaborative approach in governing Maharashtra.
