Procurement Under Price Support Scheme (PSS)

All procurements will be conducted under PSS to ensure farmers are not forced to sell their produce at below-market prices. The government highlighted that:

  • POS-based procurement systems are already in place
  • Payments will be transparent and faster

Boost to Farmers’ Income and Food Security

The decision will ensure structured and scientific procurement of key crops such as chana, masoor, mustard, and safflower. It is expected to:

  • Enhance farmers’ income
  • Strengthen food and nutritional security
  • Boost production of pulses and oilseeds

The move aligns with the government’s broader goal of empowering farmers and strengthening the agriculture sector under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
