Lucknow: LDA Announces 20 Cr Modern Community Centre in Gomti Nagar Extension

Date:

Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced plans to construct a modern community centre worth ₹20 crore in Gomti Nagar Extension, aimed at strengthening social infrastructure and providing residents with improved facilities for cultural, recreational, and public gatherings.

The proposed project will come up in the rapidly developing Gomti Nagar Extension area and is part of LDA’s broader focus on urban development and enhancing quality of life through planned infrastructure expansion.

According to officials, the upcoming centre will be developed as a multi-purpose facility designed to host social functions, community events, cultural programmes, and recreational activities for residents of nearby housing societies and colonies.

The project will be executed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which has been proposed to ensure faster construction and better long-term maintenance of the facility. The authority has already directed officials to initiate the process of inviting Requests for Proposal (RFP) from interested private partners.

The centre is planned on a 2,900 square metre land parcel near Saraswati Apartments in Sector 4, and will feature a three-storey building with basement parking facilities, ensuring adequate space management for visitors.

As per the proposed layout, the facility will include a large multipurpose hall for events, landscaped lawns for outdoor gatherings, a dedicated kitchen and dining area, and accommodation rooms including suites for guests during functions.

In addition to event infrastructure, the centre will also offer modern lifestyle amenities such as a gymnasium, yoga centre, indoor games area, cafeteria, and recreational spaces, making it a comprehensive community hub for residents.

The design also incorporates sustainability features, including rooftop solar panels aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing electricity consumption, aligning with green building practices.

Officials stated that once operational, the facility will be managed by a dedicated committee involving local representatives and stakeholders to ensure smooth functioning and community participation.

The initiative is expected to address the long-standing demand of residents in Gomti Nagar Extension for a dedicated space for social, cultural, and recreational activities, while also supporting LDA’s vision of developing modern urban infrastructure in Lucknow.

With this project, the authority aims to create a centralised community hub that promotes social interaction, organised events, and improved urban living standards in one of the city’s fastest-growing residential zones.
