Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Thanks Voters as BJP Claims Major Civic Poll Victory

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the people of the state for giving the BJP a decisive mandate in the municipal elections, calling the outcome a reflection of public trust in the party’s governance.

“First of all, I want to thank the citizens of Maharashtra for giving a grand victory to the BJP in the municipal elections,” Fadnavis said while addressing the media in Mumbai.

Highlighting the scale of the win, the Chief Minister announced that the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is set to assume leadership in a large number of civic bodies. “BJP and Mahayuti are going to form their 25 mayors after these elections,” he stated.

Fadnavis said the results demonstrated strong grassroots support for the ruling alliance and underscored voters’ preference for development-oriented politics. He added that the mandate places a greater responsibility on the BJP and its allies to deliver efficient governance at the local level.

The municipal elections were closely watched as they play a key role in urban administration and are often seen as an indicator of political momentum ahead of larger state and national contests. With the Mahayuti poised to control multiple mayoral posts, the BJP’s organisational strength in Maharashtra is expected to receive a significant boost.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government would work in coordination with the newly elected civic leadership to accelerate development projects, improve urban infrastructure, and enhance public service delivery across Maharashtra.
