Mumbai, April 6: Mumbai is gearing up to introduce electric boats offering a lounge-style commuting experience connecting the city with Alibaug and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. The boats, P-12 Business model, have been shipped from Sweden by electric vessel manufacturer Candela and are expected to arrive in Mumbai soon.

Officials said the boats are designed to provide comfortable seating, modern amenities, and eco-friendly travel, catering to both tourists and daily commuters. The initiative aims to reduce travel time, ease road congestion, and promote sustainable transport along Mumbai’s coastline.

Passengers can expect premium interiors, Wi-Fi connectivity, and refreshment facilities, combining convenience with a scenic waterway journey. The service will be integrated with existing public transport and tourism networks, offering a seamless commuting experience to key destinations.

Authorities emphasized that this project reflects Mumbai’s push toward innovative, green urban mobility solutions, providing a luxurious and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional road travel.
