India Beat Pakistan 4-3 in London to Claim FIH Pro League Victory

In a thrilling FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26 match played in London on Tuesday evening, India secured a magnificent 4-3 victory over Pakistan. At first Pakistan took the lead against the run of play in the first quarter when Ahmad Nadeem converted a penalty corner to put his team 1-0 ahead. After missing several penalty corners, Abhishek Nain scored in the second quarter to level the match for India, and shortly thereafter, Nilakanta Sharma netted a brilliant field goal to put India in the lead at 2-1. India extended their lead with a goal from Sukhjeet Singh in the third quarter, while Pakistan tried to stay in the contest through goals from Shakeel Moin and Abu Mahmood. India defeated Pakistan 4-3, courtesy of a decisive goal by Rajinder Singh in the fourth quarter.

India had defeated the reigning Olympic and Pro League champions, the Netherlands, as well as the world number one team, Germany, during last week’s Rotterdam leg,which boosted the team’s confidence.

During the London leg, India will face England on Thursday and then clash with Pakistan again on June 26. The tour will conclude with a second match against England on June 28. Heading into the London leg, the ‘Men in Blue’ (the Indian team) sit in eighth place in the FIH Pro League 2025-26 standings with 10 points from 12 matches, while Pakistan is at the bottom of the table with zero points.
