Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his insights into India’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized that the battle was not just ‘Virus vs Government’, but rather a fight of ‘Virus vs Life’.

PM Modi highlighted the importance of direct communication with the citizens of India from the onset of the pandemic. He led by example, adhering to all safety protocols in public and encouraging the citizens to do the same. His initiatives such as ‘taali bajao’, ‘thaali bajao’, ‘diya jalao’, though initially met with skepticism, played a significant role in building public confidence and transforming the fight against the virus into a mass movement.

Addressing the financial challenges posed by the pandemic, particularly the costs associated with vaccine research, PM Modi highlighted the importance of leading by example. He was among the first to receive the vaccine, followed by his 95-year-old mother, thereby boosting public confidence in the vaccination drive.
