Fadnavis Warns of Proxy Threats, Reviews Mumbai’s Security Post Operation Sindoor

Date:

In the wake of heightened tensions following Operation Sindoor, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared that Pakistan has been shown its place by the Indian military, citing the destruction of multiple airbases and terrorist hideouts. He asserted that Pakistan has now realized it cannot match India in direct warfare, pushing them historically toward proxy warfare.

CM Fadnavis emphasized that this context puts Mumbai, India’s financial capital, in a more vulnerable position. He stated that the state government has taken this risk seriously and conducted a high-level review meeting to assess the security situation and lay out further action plans. He affirmed that Maharashtra’s security forces are on high alert and fully prepared.

The remarks underline growing concerns about internal security risks in metropolitan cities amid India-Pakistan tensions, especially as Pakistan may resort to non-conventional means of retaliation.
