Ramdas Athawale Backs Shashi Tharoor on Terror Attack Remark, Cites PM Modi’s Leadership in Counter-Terror Operations

Date:

Mumbai, Maharashtra — Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday endorsed Congress leader Shashi Tharoor’s recent remark, acknowledging that the current attack is among the biggest terrorist incidents since India’s independence.

Shashi Tharoor’s statement is correct — this is one of the most serious terrorist attacks since independence,” Athawale said. Referring to India’s counter-terror responses, he added, “Before Operation Sindoor, a surgical strike also occurred under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

When asked about similar actions during the previous government, Athawale said, “Congress leaders may claim that something similar happened during Manmohan Singh’s tenure, but I do not have any information about that.

His remarks signal rare bipartisan agreement on the gravity of the current security situation, while also underscoring the BJP’s emphasis on strong national security under PM Modi’s leadership.
