Maharashtra Government Approves New MIDC, Cricket Stadium Land, and Additional Collector Posts

Date:

Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Monday said that key administrative and development-related decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.

Addressing the media, Bawankule said that land belonging to the Indapur–Walchandnagar Revenue Department in Pune district has been allocated for the establishment of a new Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). The proposed MIDC is expected to boost industrial activity, generate employment, and support regional economic growth in the area.

In another major decision, the state government has allotted 12 hectares of land at Vikaswadi in Kolhapur district for the development of an international cricket stadium. Officials said the project is expected to enhance sports infrastructure in western Maharashtra and provide opportunities for hosting national and international sporting events.

The minister also announced that the government has approved the creation of 11 additional collector posts. The move is aimed at strengthening administrative capacity and improving governance efficiency, particularly in districts with increasing population and administrative workload.

According to Bawankule, these decisions reflect the state government’s focus on balanced development, improved infrastructure, and administrative reforms. He added that the government is committed to accelerating industrial growth, promoting sports, and ensuring effective public administration across Maharashtra.

Officials noted that further procedural steps and detailed project planning will follow to ensure timely implementation of the approved initiatives.
