Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation has been honoured with two state-level awards under the Maharashtra government’s Rajiv Gandhi Administrative Efficiency Campaign and Competition 2025–26, recognising its efforts to improve governance and citizen services.
One of the key initiatives, “Municipal Services via WhatsApp and Chatbot,” secured the second position, earning a cash prize of ₹6 lakh. The project leverages digital technology to provide civic services directly to citizens, making service delivery faster and more accessible.
In another achievement, the “Aamhala Khelu Dya” (Let Us Play) initiative won first place in the Government Officials category, along with a ₹50,000 prize. The programme focuses on reclaiming encroached playgrounds and maintaining them for children, thereby improving public spaces in the city.
Officials said these recognitions highlight the civic body’s push towards transparent, citizen-centric governance and better urban management. The initiatives were implemented under the leadership of senior officials, including former municipal commissioner G. Sreekanth.
The awards mark a significant milestone for the civic body, showcasing how digital innovation and community-focused projects can enhance administrative efficiency and improve quality of life in urban areas.
