Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in trap shooting at the ISSF World Cup. She secured this landmark achievement after a remarkable performance in the women’s trap final held in Lonato, Italy.
Dhanda delivered an outstanding performance in the final, maintaining his composure to hit 27 out of 30 targets and win the gold medal. This marked the biggest international victory of his career. The win was a significant milestone for Indian shotgun shooting, as the country had been awaiting an individual medal at the global level in the sport this year.
Born in Haryana, this shooter got her campaign off to a strong start with a brilliant performance in the qualification round. She topped the qualification standings with a score of 121 out of 125 and maintained her excellent form in the final, where she faced tough competitors such as former world champions.
This victory marks a significant milestone for Indian women’s shotgun shooting and solidifies Dhanda’s standing as one of the country’s leading trap shooters on the international stage.
