Shaina NC Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks on Voter Registration

Date:

Mumbai — Responding to Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks on voter registration, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC issued a sharp rebuttal, defending the Election Commission and calling out what she described as Gandhi’s lack of understanding of the democratic process.

Rahul Gandhi should be happy when more people register to vote and actively participate in the democratic process,” Shaina said. “The Election Commission’s responsibility is to ensure voter registration, especially of the youth and first-time voters.”

Referring to Gandhi’s repeated criticism of the electoral process, Shaina stated, “His baseless allegations only expose his ignorance of how a democracy functions. Instead of questioning the system, he should encourage citizens to engage in the electoral process.”

Her remarks come amid a broader political exchange over electoral reforms, with opposition leaders raising questions about voter rolls and transparency. However, the Election Commission has maintained that its procedures are robust and inclusive, aiming to improve participation across all demographics.

As India prepares for upcoming state and by-elections, the political discourse around the integrity of the voting process continues to intensify, with leaders across party lines weighing in on the issue.
