Historic Win: Krishna Nagar Claims French Para Badminton Championship Gold

Indian players delivered a stellar performance and bagged a rich haul of medals at the French Para-Badminton International 2026 held in France. Paralympic gold medalist Krishna Nagar clinched the gold medal in the men’s singles final by defeating France’s Paralympic champion Charles Noakes 21-19, 21-11.

India’s Para-badminton team delivered outstanding performances across various events, securing multiple medals. Thulasimathi Murugesan won the gold medal in the women’s singles SU5 category. Meanwhile, Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan (women’s singles SH6) and Nitesh Kumar (men’s singles SL3) also clinched gold medals, further adding to India’s tally.

Several other Indian players also delivered outstanding performances. Navin Shivkumar won the silver medal in the men’s singles SL4 category. Meanwhile, the pair of Manasi Joshi and Thulasimathi Murugesan secured the silver medal in the women’s doubles SL3-SU5 event. Additionally, Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramadass put up a brilliant performance in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 category, winning another silver medal for India.

India’s bronze medalists also delivered impressive performances at the competition. Prem Kumar Ale won a bronze medal in the men’s singles WH1 category, Alfia James in the women’s singles WH2 category, and Pramod Bhagat in the men’s singles SL3 category. Pramod Bhagat also secured a bronze medal in the men’s doubles event alongside Sukant Kadam. Additionally, Suryakant Yadav (Men’s Singles SL4), Ruthick Ragupathi (Men’s Singles SU5), and Manisha Ramadass (Women’s Singles SU5) secured bronze medals in their respective categories.

In the Women’s Doubles WH1-WH2 event, the pair of Ruchi Trivedi and Natalia Grzyb finished third, while Abu Hubaid and Pallavi Kaluvahalli won the bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles WH1-WH2 category. Furthermore, Sanjana Kumari and Shanthiya Viswanathan clinched the bronze medal in Women’s Doubles SL3-SU5, and the duo of Nitesh Kumar and Thulasimathi Murugesan secured another bronze for India in the Mixed Doubles SL3-SU5 event.
