Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Chairs High-Level Meeting on Maratha Reservation

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials to review the ongoing developments and policy measures regarding the Maratha reservation issue. The meeting, held at Mantralaya, witnessed the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, highlighting the importance the state government is attaching to this sensitive matter.

The Maratha reservation issue has been at the forefront of Maharashtra’s socio-political discourse, with growing demands from community representatives for a permanent solution that ensures equitable opportunities in education and government jobs. The meeting is said to have focused on legal, administrative, and social aspects of the matter, including the government’s strategy in light of ongoing deliberations and court rulings.

Sources indicated that officials presented detailed reports on the current status of petitions, the legal challenges faced by previous decisions, and possible ways forward.
