Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address at the ET World Leaders Forum on Saturday, celebrating India’s continued economic growth and political stability as the NDA government embarks on its third consecutive term. Modi noted that while numerous countries have witnessed governmental changes this year, India’s electorate has chosen to uphold the current administration, valuing continuity and stability. “This year, while many nations opted for change, the people of India have reaffirmed their trust in our government for the third time in a row—an achievement not seen in 60 years,” Modi said.
Highlighting India’s impressive economic performance, Modi compared it to global growth rates, stating that while the global economy expanded by 35 percent over the past decade, India’s economy soared by 90 percent. “We have achieved what we promised: sustained growth. Our economic policies have not only delivered significant results but have set a course for continued progress,” Modi asserted.
The Prime Minister’s address also focused on the positive impacts of his government’s reforms, which he claimed have transformed the lives of millions of Indians. “Our mantra of ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’ has been pivotal. The Indian public has supported our vision, and our focus on continuity, stability, and growth has resonated, especially among the youth and women,” Modi explained.
A key highlight of Modi’s speech was the substantial reduction in poverty over the last decade. “In the past ten years, 250 million people have emerged from poverty, creating a new middle class. This historic progress is unparalleled in any democratic society,” Modi said.
Modi emphasized the government’s efforts to empower the underprivileged, pointing out that many previously lacked basic facilities like bank accounts. “We have taken decisive steps to empower the poor and address their aspirations. Our recent decisions within the first 100 days of our third term reflect our commitment to the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers,” he added.
