JEE Main 2026: Two from Maharashtra Among 26 Candidates Scoring Perfect 100 Percentile

Date:

Mumbai: Two students from Maharashtra have secured a perfect 100 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, placing them among the 26 top scorers nationwide, highlighting the intense competition in one of India’s toughest engineering entrance exams.

According to results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Madhav Viradiya from Mumbai and Siddharth Athaley from Pune achieved the rare feat of scoring a perfect percentile across the two sessions of the exam.

Viradiya, originally from Vadodara and currently studying in Mumbai, scored 291 out of 300 in the first session and 285 in the second. His first-session score was considered for ranking, placing him 17th in the country.

Athaley, on the other hand, improved significantly between attempts—rising from 99.986 percentile in the first session to a perfect 100 in the second, eventually securing an All India Rank of 25.

Overall, the JEE Main 2026 results saw 26 candidates achieving a perfect 100 percentile, an increase from 24 last year, reflecting growing competition at the highest level.

The exam witnessed massive participation, with over 15.4 lakh unique candidates appearing across both sessions, out of which around 2.5 lakh qualified for JEE Advanced, the next stage for admission into premier institutions like the IITs.

Education experts note that the rising number of perfect scorers indicates both improved preparation strategies and increasing competition among aspirants. The focus now shifts to JEE Advanced, where these top performers will compete for admission into India’s most prestigious engineering institutes.
