Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Action Against Pakistani Nationals

Date:

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that the state government has identified all Pakistani nationals who are in India on short-term visas and are required to leave the country, following the latest directive from the Union government. He assured that efforts are underway to track and ensure the departure of these individuals, with police authorities working to finalize the data.

Fadnavis also clarified that Pakistani Sindhi Hindus who have come to India on long-term visas and have applied for Indian citizenship are exempt from this directive and are not required to leave the country. He emphasized that these individuals, who have followed the proper immigration procedures, would not be affected by the government’s decision.

The CM reiterated that Maharashtra has carried out its responsibilities in ensuring that Pakistani nationals with short-term visas are identified and sent back as per the Union government’s instructions. He underscored the state’s commitment to national security and adherence to the legal framework, while also ensuring the rights of those seeking citizenship through legitimate channels.

This move comes in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and is part of broader measures taken by the Indian government in response to national security concerns.
