Mock Drill Conducted at Cross Maidan as Part of Nationwide Exercise

Date:

A mock drill was conducted today at Cross Maidan in Mumbai as part of a nationwide emergency preparedness exercise ordered by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The drill aimed to test and improve the readiness of local authorities and response teams in handling disaster-like situations.

Security forces, emergency services, and disaster management teams participated in the exercise, simulating real-life scenarios to check coordination, communication, and quick response mechanisms. The drill attracted attention from local residents but was carried out smoothly under tight supervision.

The MHA’s directive for the nationwide drill is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness across states and union territories. Similar drills were carried out in various cities and towns across the country today.

Officials said the drill was successful in identifying strengths and areas for improvement in emergency response systems. Authorities also used the opportunity to raise awareness among the public about safety protocols and emergency procedures.

The Mumbai Police and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) coordinated closely to ensure the drill was effective and met national standards for emergency management.
