Opposition’s View on Ram Temple Draws PM Modi’s Ire at Nandurbar Rally

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public gathering in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, expressed his disapproval of the opposition’s viewpoint on the Ram temple, accusing them of terming it as “anti-national.”

PM Modi, during his speech, highlighted the opposition’s stance, stating, “See the mindset of Congress. In the country of Ram, they are calling the Ram temple, anti-national.” He further criticized the opposition for their actions, saying, “Those people who organise ‘sarkari iftari’, beautify the graves of terrorists for appeasement are calling our lord Ram, his temple and us, who go to Ram temple, as anti-national…”

The Prime Minister’s comments come in the backdrop of the ongoing debate surrounding the construction of the Ram temple, a significant religious symbol for many in India, which has been a point of contention in the political arena.

PM Modi’s remarks were directed at the opposition parties, especially the Congress, accusing them of exploiting the issue for political mileage. He took a dig at them for their alleged ‘sarkari iftari’ and for beautifying the graves of terrorists, suggesting that these actions were taken with an aim to appease certain sections.

The Prime Minister’s comments have ignited a fresh round of discussions on the issue, eliciting responses from various sections of society. While his supporters have praised his stance, critics argue that such statements contribute to further societal polarization.

As the political dynamics continue to unfold, the discourse surrounding the Ram temple and its impact on national identity continues to dominate public conversations.
