Maharashtra Government to Audit Hoardings in Mumbai: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis

Date:

MUMBAI – In a recent statement, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state government will conduct an investigation into the permissions granted for hoardings in Mumbai. This move comes as part of a broader effort to prevent future incidents related to unauthorized or unsafe hoardings.

Fadnavis stated, “There will be an investigation regarding what kind of permission they have for this hoarding, whether they had this permission or not.” He emphasized that the Chief Minister has directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to carry out a comprehensive audit of all hoardings in the city.

The Deputy CM’s announcement follows concerns about the safety and legality of hoardings in Mumbai. The audit aims to ensure that all hoardings meet the necessary safety standards and have the required permissions. This measure is expected to enhance public safety and uphold the aesthetic appeal of the city.

Fadnavis warned that strict action would be taken against those found to be in violation of the regulations. “Whoever has done this kind of ignorance, strict action will be taken against them,” he said.

The state government’s decision to audit hoardings underscores its commitment to maintaining public safety and order. It remains to be seen how this move will impact the advertising industry and the cityscape of Mumbai.
