In a key diplomatic event, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with Mr. Nukaga Fukushiro, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, along with a high-profile delegation consisting of Japanese lawmakers and business leaders. The meeting was a notable reaffirmation of the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan.

The discussions focused on the successful progress toward achieving the 5 trillion Japanese Yen investment goal for the 2022-2027 period. Both sides acknowledged the strides made and deliberated on strategies to bolster business and economic relations beyond this target. The talks also encompassed potential collaboration in both traditional sectors, such as monzukuri (advanced manufacturing), and emerging fields, including semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), and green technologies.

Mr. Nukaga highlighted the importance of private sector involvement in these training efforts to ensure their success and effectiveness.

Prime Minister Modi responded positively, emphasizing the recent reforms in India aimed at creating a more favorable environment for Japanese investment and technology transfer. He assured the Japanese delegation of the Indian government’s strong support for these collaborative initiatives and expressed optimism about the future of the bilateral relationship.
