Piyush Goyal Slams Congress, Hails PM Modi on Tahawwur Rana’s Extradition

Date:

Mumbai, Maharashtra | Speaking from the iconic Taj Palace Hotel, Union Minister Piyush Goyal strongly criticized the Congress over its handling of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, following the extradition of accused Tahawwur Rana to India.

Recalling the tragic events that unfolded at the hotel during the attacks, Goyal said, “During the Congress government, terrorists attacked this very hotel. Innocent people lost their lives, but Congress failed to ensure justice by not punishing the terrorists.”

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for pursuing the case with determination, stating that it was PM Modi’s “resolve to ensure that people who harm our country are severely punished” that led to Rana’s extradition.

Goyal emphasized that the accused will now be tried under Indian law, delivering long-awaited justice for the victims and their families. He also took a sharp dig at Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sanjay Raut, accusing them of prioritizing “appeasement politics even more than the Congress.”

The minister concluded by reaffirming the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, framing Rana’s extradition as a significant step in India’s global diplomatic and security efforts.
