BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Accuses Congress of Weak Stance on Terrorism, Alleges Vote Bank Politics

Date:

BJP Member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of compromising national security and supporting Pakistan under the guise of diplomacy during its tenure.

Referring to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Dubey said, “In 2008, Mumbai blasts took place, 175 people died and more than 350 were injured. Even after this, India did not retaliate because the 2009 elections were approaching.” He alleged that instead of taking firm action, the then-UPA government engaged in diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan’s leadership.

“In January, India came under pressure from the whole world and talked to Asif Ali Zardari. When the election results came and Congress won more seats than in 2004, Manmohan Singh again spoke to Zardari in Russia during the Shanghai Conference,” he said.

Dubey further stated that under international pressure, including from the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Muslim countries, India signed a controversial agreement at Sharm el-Sheikh in July 2009. “For the first time since the Simla Agreement, former PM Manmohan Singh accepted that terrorism in India and terrorism in Pakistan are the same.”

Accusing the Congress of undermining India’s security, Dubey added, “Congress supported terrorism only for vote bank politics, supported Pakistan, and after the Sharm el-Sheikh statement, Pakistan carried out another bomb blast in Mumbai in 2011, killing 26 people and injuring nearly 300.”

He concluded by saying, “Congress needs to learn history; there is no need for them to teach history.”
