Ramdas Athawale Rejects ‘Vote Theft’ Allegations, Slams Opposition for Targeting Election Commission

Date:

Mumbai: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday dismissed allegations of vote theft, calling them baseless and politically motivated.

“There is absolutely no truth in the allegation that votes are being stolen,” Athawale said, adding that similar “false propaganda” was spread by the Congress during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He accused the opposition of deliberately creating a negative narrative against the Election Commission, stating, “They have no other issue, so they are targeting the Election Commission.”

Criticising Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders, Athawale remarked that while they hold rallies in front of the Election Commission office, they avoid attending discussions when invited by the poll body.
