Ramdas Athawale Hails C.P. Radhakrishnan’s Win, Says INDIA Alliance Lacks Consensus

Date:

Mumbai: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Monday welcomed the victory of NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan in the Vice Presidential election, calling it a major achievement for the ruling alliance.

Highlighting cross-voting in Maharashtra, Athawale said, “Five votes from the Maha Vikas Aghadi have also gone to C.P. Radhakrishnan. This clearly shows there is no consensus within the INDIA alliance.”

He further claimed that sections of the opposition were inclined towards the NDA. “Some people from the INDIA alliance want to join us. This is a big victory for us,” the minister asserted.

Extending his wishes to the newly elected Vice President, Athawale added, “I heartily congratulate C.P. Radhakrishnan and extend my best wishes for his tenure.”

Political observers note that Radhakrishnan’s win with a comfortable margin not only reflects the NDA’s numerical strength in Parliament but also hints at fissures within the opposition ranks, with cross-voting becoming a decisive factor.
