BJP MP Jagdambika Pal Hails GST 2.0 as a Historic Decision

Date:

BJP MP Jagdambika Pal has described the newly announced GST 2.0 reforms as a historic milestone in India’s economic policy, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for bringing sweeping tax relief across multiple sectors. Speaking at an event in Navi Mumbai, Pal highlighted that, for the first time since India’s independence, tax slabs on essential commodities and services have been reduced simultaneously, marking a significant shift from decades of steady tax hikes.

Under GST 2.0, taxes on medicines, life-saving drugs, insurance services, and automobiles have been lowered, offering much-needed financial relief to citizens and businesses alike. Pal emphasized that this move will directly benefit common people, making healthcare more affordable, lowering the cost of insurance premiums, and boosting the automobile industry by making vehicles more accessible. “After independence, tax slabs in the country have consistently increased; however, this is the first time that taxes on medicines, life-saving drugs, insurance, and automobiles have been reduced simultaneously. This is a historic decision,” he said.

The BJP leader credited the Modi government’s economic vision for ensuring that reforms not only drive economic growth but also deliver social welfare. He expressed confidence that GST 2.0 will enhance consumer confidence, stimulate demand across key sectors, and pave the way for a stronger, more inclusive economy.
