VNIT Gets Vidarbha’s First Gen Z Post Office with Wi-Fi and Library

Nagpur, April 3, 2026 – In a first for Vidarbha, a Gen-Z-focused post office has been inaugurated at the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. This modern facility aims to combine traditional postal services with student-friendly amenities, creating a hub for both productivity and leisure.

The revamped post office offers a range of facilities, including:

Free Wi-Fi for students and visitors
A mini-library for reading and study
Carrom and chess boards for recreational activities
Coffee vending machines and comfortable seating
Digital interfaces for quick and easy postal and financial transactions

The initiative is part of the Maharashtra Postal Circle’s “Next Generation (N‑GEN)” project, designed to modernize post offices, attract younger users, and make postal services more engaging and accessible.

Officials at the inauguration emphasized that the new facility transforms the traditional post office into a modern, interactive space, encouraging students to use the services while enjoying a comfortable and tech-enabled environment.

This launch positions VNIT at the forefront of innovative postal services in Vidarbha, reflecting a broader push by India Post to adapt to the needs of the digital generation.
