Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Criticizes Opposition Ahead of Budget Session

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a dig at the opposition ahead of the budget session, questioning their unity and dismissing their concerns as being based on media reports rather than concrete issues.

“The budget session is going to start tomorrow. The Opposition has given us a 9-page letter. The situation in the Opposition is ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun?’, not ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’,” Fadnavis remarked, implying that the opposition lacks coordination and clarity.

He also criticized them for skipping the traditional pre-budget ‘Chahapan’ meeting, an opportunity for informal discussions before the session.

“They had an opportunity for fluent conversation, but they did not attend the ‘Chahapan’ (snack meeting before the budget session),” he said, adding that their decision to boycott the gathering was a missed opportunity for dialogue.

Fadnavis further claimed that the issues raised by the opposition in their letter were not well-researched.

“The letter they gave us is only based on newspaper articles,” he stated, suggesting that the opposition’s concerns lacked substantial groundwork.

Despite his criticisms, Fadnavis assured that the government would provide the opposition ample time to express their views in the assembly.

“We will give the Opposition a long time to speak in the House,” he concluded.

With the budget session set to begin, political tensions continue to rise, setting the stage for heated debates in the Maharashtra legislature.
