BJP Leader Navneet Rana Slams Abu Azmi Over Aurangzeb Remarks, Calls for Demolition of His Grave

Date:

BJP leader and MP Navneet Rana has strongly criticized Samajwadi Party leader and Maharashtra MLA Abu Azmi for his remarks on Aurangzeb, calling them disrespectful to Maharashtra’s history and its revered leaders, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Taking a firm stand, Rana reminded Azmi that he holds a position in a state shaped by the legacy of Shivaji and Sambhaji.

“The state in which you are elected to sit in the Assembly for five years was ruled by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” she stated.

Rana further urged Azmi to watch the movie Chhava, which depicts the atrocities committed by Aurangzeb against the Maratha king.

“People like you should watch Chhava movie to see what Aurangzeb did with our king,” she said.

In a bold demand, Rana also called on the Maharashtra government to take action against Aurangzeb’s grave, similar to the renaming of Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

“I want to request the Maharashtra government that the way Aurangabad’s name was changed and kept after our God Sambhaji Maharaj, Aurangzeb’s grave should also be demolished,” she asserted.

Her comments have added fuel to the ongoing political controversy surrounding Abu Azmi’s remarks. While the opposition continues to target Azmi for allegedly glorifying Aurangzeb, the demand to demolish the Mughal ruler’s grave is expected to trigger further debates in Maharashtra’s political landscape.
