Commenting on the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a key accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, BJP MP Anurag Thakur strongly criticized the previous Congress regime, accusing it of failing to act against terrorists.
Thakur said, “During the Congress regime, many people like Kasab and Rana came and carried out bomb blasts in the country. Congress did nothing, but PM Modi brought back those criminals, even from foreign countries. Now, the court in India will punish them.”
His remarks come after the announcement of Rana’s extradition to India from the United States, which is being seen as a major diplomatic success for the current government. Rana is alleged to have played a significant role in facilitating the deadly 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, which claimed over 170 lives.
Thakur emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has adopted a firm stance against terrorism and has consistently pursued justice for the victims. He highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring that no terrorist, regardless of where they hide, will escape the Indian justice system.
