People Have Reposed Faith in Mahayuti, BJP Breaks 2017 Record: CM Devendra Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that early trends from the Zilla Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti elections indicate strong public support for the Mahayuti alliance, with the Bharatiya Janata Party registering an improved performance compared to the 2017 polls.

Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Fadnavis stated that the results so far reflect the electorate’s renewed confidence in the Mahayuti’s governance agenda. He noted that the BJP has surpassed its earlier electoral record, describing the outcome as an endorsement of the alliance’s work at both the state and grassroots levels.

“The people of Maharashtra have reposed their faith in Mahayuti. BJP has broken its 2017 record,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the trends point towards growing acceptance of the government’s development-focused policies and administrative approach.

During his remarks, Fadnavis also referred to senior leader Ajit Pawar, expressing regret over his absence during the elections. The Chief Minister’s statement was made in the context of the ongoing electoral developments.

Political observers note that Zilla Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti elections are often seen as key indicators of public sentiment at the grassroots level. Performance in these local body polls is considered significant as it reflects voter priorities related to rural development, local governance, and welfare delivery.

The Mahayuti alliance, led by the BJP, has positioned its campaign around governance reforms, infrastructure development, and implementation of welfare schemes. As counting continues, party leaders are closely tracking results to assess regional trends and organisational strength across districts.

Further clarity on the final outcome is expected once complete results are declared by the election authorities.
