Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai tomorrow to review the progress of the India–France strategic partnership and discuss key regional and global issues. President Macron will be on a three-day official visit to India beginning tomorrow.

The visit comes as President Macron is scheduled to attend the AI Impact Summit, where global leaders and technology experts will deliberate on developments in artificial intelligence and its governance. The summit is expected to serve as a platform to enhance cooperation in emerging technologies between the two countries.

During the bilateral meeting, the two leaders are likely to assess ongoing collaborations across defence, space, civil nuclear energy, climate action, and trade. Discussions are also expected to focus on expanding cooperation in new and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and advanced research.

A major highlight of the visit will be the joint inauguration of the India–France Year of Innovation 2026. The initiative aims to promote partnerships between startups, academic institutions, research organisations, and industry leaders from both nations.

Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will also address a gathering of business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators, underscoring the importance of technology-driven growth and sustainable development.

India and France share a long-standing strategic partnership, with strong cooperation in defence and the Indo-Pacific region. The upcoming meeting is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties and provide momentum to collaborative initiatives in high-technology and economic sectors.
