Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the National Education Policy 2020 promotes inclusive and accessible education, while this year’s Union Budget provides a strong push to education, employment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and research.
He made these remarks while addressing the concluding session of the post-budget webinar on the theme “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People” held in New Delhi.
Budget Focus on Education, Employment and Innovation
During his virtual address, the minister highlighted that the Union Budget has placed special emphasis on strengthening education systems and creating employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
He noted that the policy framework of NEP 2020 is designed to make education more inclusive, accessible, and aligned with future needs, enabling students to develop skills relevant to a rapidly changing global economy.
Participatory Governance Reflected in Webinar
Pradhan said the large participation of domain experts, policymakers, and stakeholders in the webinar series reflects the government’s commitment to participatory governance.
He thanked all stakeholders for their valuable suggestions and insights, expressing confidence that their contributions would help ensure effective implementation of the budget announcements at the grassroots level.

The discussions during the webinar focused on strengthening education-to-employment linkages, ensuring that students gain skills that match industry requirements.
Participants also emphasized the need to develop future-ready curricula and expand skilling pathways to prepare young people for emerging job markets.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of building innovation-driven ecosystems through collaboration among government ministries, academic institutions, industry partners, civil society organizations, and implementation agencies.
