Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC highlighted the strong coordination between the Maharashtra government and the Centre in addressing the hardships faced by farmers following the recent spell of incessant rainfall across the state. Speaking to the media, she emphasized that the central government has always been extremely sensitive towards Maharashtra and its farming community, especially during times of natural calamities.
A detailed memorandum outlining the extensive crop damage and losses suffered by farmers was submitted to the Centre earlier today. Responding swiftly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured that the situation warrants urgent relief measures and promised that substantial assistance will be extended to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the affected farmers. This rapid response underscores the Centre’s commitment to ensuring that financial and infrastructural aid reaches those in need without delay.
Shaina NC expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for their proactive efforts in representing the farmers’ concerns and advocating for immediate action. She described the joint efforts of the state and central governments as a reflection of “sensitivity and empathy towards the farmers of Maharashtra”, reaffirming that farmer welfare remains a top priority.
The upcoming relief measures are expected to include compensation packages, agricultural support, and rehabilitation plans, aimed at helping farmers recover their livelihoods and rebuild after the devastating rains.
