Mumbai — Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has welcomed Tesla’s official entry into India, celebrating the launch of the electric vehicle giant’s first experience center in Mumbai. He hailed it as a significant step toward positioning Maharashtra as a national hub for electric mobility.
“It is a matter of great joy for us that Tesla has launched its first experience in India in Mumbai,” said Fadnavis. “Tesla is establishing a logistics and servicing system here. Four big charging stations are also being established by them.”
He noted that Tesla’s launch of the Model Y in India reflects growing confidence in the Indian EV market. “I am happy that Tesla chose Maharashtra, as the state has become a leader in electric mobility,” he added.
Highlighting the state’s progressive EV policies, Fadnavis said, “Maharashtra has the most dynamic electric mobility policy. I believe Maharashtra will be a preferred destination when Tesla decides to begin manufacturing in India.”
Tesla’s entry is expected to boost the EV ecosystem in India and further attract global investment in clean mobility solutions.
