Mumbai Politics: BJP’s Ram Kadam Dismisses Talk of UBT–MNS Alliance

Date:

Reacting to speculation over a possible alliance between Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), BJP leader Ram Kadam on Monday termed it an internal matter of the two parties and downplayed its political significance.

Kadam said that whether UBT and MNS choose to come together is their “personal decision,” but claimed that the political support base of UBT has significantly eroded. He further alleged that many leaders and workers have left the MNS, weakening the party’s organisational strength.

Taking a sharp dig at both parties, the BJP leader asserted that even if an alliance were to take shape, it would fail to make an impact in elections. “Both parties will settle for such low figures that no one could even imagine,” Kadam said, projecting poor electoral prospects for the UBT–MNS combination.

His remarks come amid renewed political chatter in Maharashtra about possible realignments ahead of upcoming elections, with major parties positioning themselves and exchanging sharp statements.
