Mumbai: Reacting to the outcome of the Maharashtra civic body elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday attributed the BJP-led alliance’s strong performance to its development-focused vision and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Fadnavis said the elections were contested with a clear agenda centered on growth, governance, and infrastructure. “We faced these elections with a vision of development under the leadership of PM Modi. That is why we got a record-breaking mandate in these elections,” the Chief Minister stated.
Emphasising the political significance of the results, Fadnavis said the verdict reflected the public’s trust in the Prime Minister’s leadership, both at the national and state levels. “These results have clarified that Maharashtra relies a lot on PM Modi,” he added.
The Chief Minister noted that the civic poll outcome sends a strong message about voters’ preference for stability and development-oriented governance. He also highlighted that local body elections are often seen as a barometer of public sentiment, making the results particularly meaningful for the ruling dispensation.
The civic body polls were keenly watched across the state, as they are considered crucial for grassroots governance and political influence ahead of future Assembly and national elections. The BJP’s strong showing is expected to further bolster its organisational strength and morale in Maharashtra.
Fadnavis reaffirmed that the state government would continue to focus on development, transparency, and effective delivery of public services, aligning local governance with the broader vision set by the Prime Minister.
