PM Narendra Modi to Visit Israel on February 25-26, Aims to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day state visit to Israel on February 25-26, stating that the trip will further strengthen bilateral ties and set new goals for the India-Israel strategic partnership.

Before departing, PM Modi said he is looking forward to discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, aimed at deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.

Focus on Science, Technology, Defence and Trade

According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi described India and Israel as strong strategic partners whose relationship has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years.

He said his talks with Prime Minister Netanyahu will focus on expanding collaboration in key areas such as:

  • Science and technology
  • Innovation
  • Agriculture and water management
  • Defence and security
  • Trade and investment
  • People-to-people ties

The leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Address to Israeli Parliament Knesset

During the visit, PM Modi will meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog and address the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament.

This address will mark a historic milestone, as PM Modi will become the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Knesset. The opportunity is being seen as a tribute to the strong democratic and parliamentary ties between the two nations.

Engagement with Indian Diaspora

The Prime Minister also expressed enthusiasm about interacting with members of the Indian diaspora in Israel, acknowledging their role in strengthening bilateral relations.

PM Modi emphasized that the visit, coming nearly nine years after his last state trip to Israel, is expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation and reinforce the shared vision of a strong, innovative, and prosperous future for both countries.

He is scheduled to arrive in Israel at 12:45 PM local time on Wednesday, where Prime Minister Netanyahu will receive him. Over the next two days, the Prime Minister will participate in multiple official engagements aimed at enhancing the India-Israel partnership.
