Shiv Sena Leader Shaina NC Stresses on Marathi Pride Amid Language Row

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC has reiterated the importance of Marathi identity and pride, emphasizing the sacrifices made for the state.

“It is a matter of pride to speak Marathi, to be proud of Marathi ‘asmita’ and to understand that 106 people gave their lives for this soil of theirs,” she stated, referencing the historical struggle for the formation of Maharashtra and the preservation of Marathi culture.

Taking a veiled dig at Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, she questioned his choice of language in political messaging.

“When Aaditya Thackeray puts up big hoardings of ‘Kem Chho’, what does that mean? We believe in ‘unity in diversity’.”

Her remarks come in the context of Bhaiyyaji Joshi’s recent statement, in which the RSS leader underscored the importance of promoting the Marathi language in Maharashtra. The discussion around linguistic pride has been reignited amid political debates over regional identity and cultural preservation.
