Bharatmala Project: A Vision for India’s Infrastructure Transformation

Date:

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced ambitious plans for the Bharatmala project, a nationwide initiative aimed at overhauling India’s road network. The project is divided into two phases: Bharatmala-1, covering 34,000 km, and Bharatmala-2, spanning approximately 8,500 km.

“Bharatmala-1 is a project of 34 thousand km and Bharatmala-2 is of about 8,500 km,” Gadkari said. “By the end of 2024, the fate of this country will transform completely.”

The Union Minister expressed his vision for the project, stating that his goal is to make India’s National Highway network on par with that of the United States. “My effort is to make the road network of the National Highway equal to America and I am sure that I will be successful in this,” he added.

The Bharatmala project is expected to significantly improve connectivity, facilitate faster movement of goods and people, and contribute to the nation’s economic growth. With the completion of this project, India is poised to witness a major transformation in its road infrastructure by the end of 2024.

The ambitious project underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and its role in propelling India’s growth story forward. As the country gears up for this infrastructural overhaul, the eyes of the nation are set on the successful completion of the Bharatmala project.
