Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Dismisses Rumors, Criticizes Opposition for Boycotting Pre-Budget Meeting

Date:

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has dismissed speculation that his government has halted any developmental work, calling such claims “completely false” and labeling them as mere rumors.

“We all are working together, and the talks that the CM has stopped or stayed some work is completely false. These are all rumors,” Fadnavis asserted, emphasizing that his administration remains committed to ongoing projects.

He also criticized the opposition for boycotting the traditional ‘Chahapan’ meeting, a pre-budget session gathering where leaders come together for discussions over snacks.

“Today we had invited the opposition for ‘Chahapan’ (snack meeting before the budget session), but they boycotted it,” he revealed, expressing disappointment over their absence.

Fadnavis further pointed out that while the opposition held a separate meeting, it lacked participation from senior leaders.

“They held a meeting in which none of their big leaders came. They have given us a 9-page letter in which there are names of 9 people, there are signatures of 7 people, and in that letter, they have raised issues which they have only taken from the press,” he remarked, suggesting that the opposition’s grievances were not based on substantive policy concerns.

With the Maharashtra budget session underway, political tensions continue to rise between the ruling party and the opposition. How the opposition responds to these statements remains to be seen.
