Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Assures Continued Funding for ‘Ladki Bahin’ Scheme

Date:

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, assuring that there has been no reduction in its allocated budget. Addressing concerns following the presentation of the state budget, Fadnavis emphasized that the scheme remains a priority and funds will be provided as needed.

“We have not decreased the money for the ‘Ladki Bahin’. Everyone will get their money. We have kept the money for the scheme as per trends of need. If more finance is needed for the scheme, we can make another provision for it,” he stated.

The ‘Ladki Bahin’ initiative aims to provide financial assistance of ₹2,100 per month to eligible women, supporting economic empowerment and welfare. Questions had been raised about the sufficiency of funds allocated for the program in the latest budget. However, Fadnavis assured that the government would ensure the fulfillment of its promise.

“We will fulfill our promise of providing ₹2,100 per month to our sisters,” he reiterated.

The announcement comes amid broader discussions on Maharashtra’s financial priorities, with the opposition questioning allocations for welfare schemes. With the assurance from the Chief Minister, beneficiaries can expect continued support under the initiative, ensuring financial stability for women across the state.

The government’s stance signals its commitment to social welfare while balancing budgetary allocations for various developmental programs.
