BJP Leader Ram Kadam Says Congress Fears Backlash from Bihari Voters, Confirms Mahayuti’s United Front for BMC Polls

Date:

Mumbai: BJP leader Ram Kadam on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Congress, claiming the party is “scared” ahead of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. He linked Congress’ recent distancing from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to fears of losing voter support in Bihar.

“All the Biharis will vote against the Congress in the Bihar elections as the workers of Raj Thackeray beat Biharis in Maharashtra,” Kadam said, referring to past incidents of violence involving MNS workers. “The Congress is scared, which is why a Congress leader issued a statement stating that they will not contest the BMC elections with the MNS,” he added.

The BJP leader further reaffirmed that the Mahayuti alliance — comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) — will fight the civic polls together. “Mahayuti will contest the BMC elections unitedly, and we will surely win the elections,” Kadam asserted.

The BMC polls are expected to be a key political battle in Maharashtra, testing the strength of the ruling Mahayuti alliance against the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi bloc.
