BJP MLA Ram Kadam has taken a sharp dig at Uddhav Thackeray, questioning his silence on Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Parab’s comparison of himself to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
“What will Uddhav Thackeray demand for Anil Parab, who is comparing himself to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj? 24 hours have gone by, and Uddhav Thackeray is still quiet about it,” Kadam stated.
He also addressed the ongoing language controversy in Mumbai, particularly in Ghatkopar, which has a large Gujarati-speaking population.
“Ghatkopar is a Gujarati-majority area, so they naturally talk to each other in Gujarati; this is all he has to say. We have reiterated time and again that the language in Mumbai and Maharashtra will always be Marathi,” he asserted.
The statement comes amid rising political tensions over linguistic identity in Maharashtra, with BJP leaders emphasizing Marathi pride, while Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders face criticism over their stance on regional and linguistic issues.
