Amid ongoing efforts to ensure the safe return of stranded Maharashtrian tourists following the Pahalgam terror attack, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC criticized the Thackeray family for their absence during a critical time. Speaking to reporters, Shaina stated, “Deputy CM Eknath Shinde flew straight to Srinagar to stand with our people and coordinate their safe return.”
Drawing a stark contrast, she added, “On the other hand, you have the Thackerays enjoying a European escapade. Is leisure more important or leadership?” Shaina accused the opposition of prioritizing image over action, saying, “When citizens look for leadership, they deserve leaders on the ground, not Instagram updates from abroad. The absence sends a loud, shameful message.”
Her remarks come amid a politically sensitive time, as Maharashtra reels from the emotional impact of the attack, which claimed the lives of several innocent civilians. Shinde’s swift action and on-ground presence have been praised by allies, while criticism is mounting against leaders perceived as detached during the crisis.
