Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today attended the 75th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. PM Modi said that he will never forget this experience, and the darshan and pujan of Mahadev is a source of boundless spiritual energy.

PM Modi wrote on X, “It has been a divine experience to visit the holy shrine of Somnath on the 75th anniversary of the reconstructed Somnath Temple. On this occasion, witnessing the fervour and immense enthusiasm of Lord Somnath’s devotees along the temple route, my heart is overwhelmed and deeply moved! Today, I am reliving the very moment here that India’s first President, Dr Rajendra Prasad, must have experienced during the consecration ceremony of the reconstructed temple. The devotional atmosphere of the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav is radiating a wondrous energy in every direction”.

PM Modi held a road show while on the way to the temple. Large numbers of devotees welcomed PM Modi and waved him while celebrating the Somnath Amrit Mahotsav. Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran team also showcased a breathtaking flypast in the skies of Somnath. This spirit of the Indian Air Force filled every devotee with deep joy and happiness.

PM Modi wrote on X, “To be bestowed with the supreme privilege of performing the *Mahapuja* and *Kumbhabhishek* at the feet of Lord Mahadev, upon the grand, divine, and sacred soil of Somnath, stands as one of the most deeply moving and unforgettable moments of a lifetime. While keeping in remembrance the masses—revered as the very embodiment of the Divine—this transcendental opportunity to seek Lord Mahadev’s *darshan* and offer worship has left my heart overwhelmed with boundless spiritual energy, reverence, and a consciousness steeped in the essence of Shiva”.
