Budget 2026 Webinar: PM Narendra Modi to Address Session on ‘She-Mart’ for Women-Led Rural Enterprises

A special session on ‘She-Mart’, aimed at strengthening women-led rural enterprises, will be held on Friday under the post-budget webinar series 2026. The session will be addressed by Narendra Modi.

The Ministry of Rural Development has invited people to join the webinar, highlighting that She-Mart will help rural women move from production to branding and from local sales to national-level markets.

Platform to Empower Rural Women Entrepreneurs

According to the ministry, She-Mart will not just be a marketplace for selling products, but a platform where rural women entrepreneurs can gain confidence, expand their networks and transform their businesses into sustainable enterprises.

The initiative aims to create an ecosystem where women can build brands, access larger markets and secure fair prices for their products, helping them transition from small-scale production to competitive businesses.

Linked with Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–NRLM

The initiative will be implemented under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission, which focuses on improving livelihoods of rural households, especially women.

Through She-Mart, women associated with self-help groups will be able to connect directly with bigger markets, strengthen their supply chains and expand business opportunities.

Announced in Union Budget 2026–27

The concept of She-Mart was announced by Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2026–27 as part of the government’s broader strategy to promote women’s economic empowerment.

Under the initiative, dedicated marts will be established and managed by women entrepreneurs, enabling them to sell their products directly and gain ownership of their businesses.

Boost to Women Entrepreneurship in Rural India

Officials said the initiative aims to ensure that rural women are not limited to production roles but are also empowered as business leaders.

By connecting them with national markets and branding opportunities, She-Mart is expected to play a key role in strengthening women entrepreneurship, rural livelihoods and economic self-reliance in India.
