Union Minister Piyush Goyal Pays Tribute to Martyrs on Maharashtra Day

Mumbai, Maharashtra – Union Minister and BJP candidate from Mumbai North, Piyush Goyal, paid his respects to the 108 martyrs of the Samyukta Maharashtra movement on Maharashtra Day.

Goyal expressed his gratitude towards the martyrs, locally known as ‘hutatma’, whose sacrifices ensured that Mumbai remains an integral part of Maharashtra. “It is due to their sacrifice that Mumbai is an integral part of Maharashtra,” said Goyal during his address.

Maharashtra Day, celebrated on May 1st, marks the formation of the state of Maharashtra from the division of the Bombay State in 1960. It is a day of great significance for the people of Maharashtra, and Goyal’s tribute to the martyrs adds to the solemnity of the occasion.

“For all of us, Maharashtra Day is a very pious day,” Goyal added. He emphasized that the day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the martyrs and motivates current and future generations to work towards a better tomorrow.

Goyal, who is contesting the upcoming elections from Mumbai North, used the occasion to reiterate his commitment to the development of Maharashtra. His tribute to the martyrs of the Samyukta Maharashtra movement underscores his connection to the state’s history and his dedication to its future.

As Maharashtra Day celebrations continue across the state, Goyal’s words serve as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices that have shaped Maharashtra’s past and the work that lies ahead in its future.
