Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on the fifth day of Chaitra Navratri 2026, dedicated to Goddess Skandamata.
Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister prayed for the well-being of citizens and invoked the blessings of Goddess Skandamata. He expressed hope that the Goddess would illuminate everyone’s life with her maternal love and divine grace.
“I offer my prayers to Goddess Skandamata. May her motherly affection and blessings enlighten everyone’s lives,” PM Modi posted.
The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit verse highlighting the divine attributes of Goddess Skandamata:
“Simhasanagata Nityam Padmashritakaradvaya,
Shubhadaastu Sada Devi Skandamata Yashaswini.”
The verse describes the Goddess as one who is seated on a lion, holding lotus flowers in both hands, and bestowing auspicious blessings upon her devotees.
In addition, PM Modi shared a devotional hymn dedicated to Maa Ambe, stating that devotion to the Goddess brings immense peace and spiritual strength.
Leaders Extend Navratri Greetings
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his greetings on the occasion. He prayed that the nurturing grace of Goddess Skandamata continues to bless the entire world with prosperity, happiness, and peace.
Similarly, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his wishes to the people of the state. He said that the sacred occasion of Navratri brings knowledge, salvation, and positivity into people’s lives.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid tribute to Goddess Skandamata. In her message, she highlighted that the compassionate form of the Goddess inspires people to work for the welfare of society and promotes harmony, knowledge, and peace.
Significance of Day 5 of Navratri
The fifth day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Skandamata, the mother of Lord Kartikeya. She symbolizes motherly love, compassion, and strength, and is believed to bless devotees with wisdom, prosperity, and liberation.
